Cassie Erwin, the creative mind behind @hearttohome_design on Instagram, is an Arizona home stylist who transforms her designs into intentional experiences. She believes that design is about “creating a feeling, embodying emotion, sparking sentiment… and doing so deliberately.”
Her goal with this Valentine’s Day look was to “create a space that captured the essence of what love is to my husband and I…sweet, timeless, cozy, vintage, romance.” She followed her typical design process with this space: she considered the space’s purpose, started with a neutral base palette, and then brought the design to life with her use of color, texture, shape, sound, and scent.
Sophisticated Valentine's Decorations
This Valentine’s Day project was such a fun and new experience! I must admit, I haven’t typically decorated for Valentine’s Day in the past, so I knew styling for the holiday this year was going to be exciting and a bit challenging. Well, I’ve certainly never been one to turn away from fun OR a challenge and seriously had the best time getting creative.
My goal was to create a space that captured the essence of what love is to my husband and I…Sweet, timeless, cozy, vintage, romance. We’re more of a “two straws, one shake” kind of couple and I feel like that’s something people can relate to.
I genuinely love how this project turned out and can’t believe the amazing pieces I found at American Furniture Warehouse! The shabby-chic candelabra is just perfection and screams sweet, vintage romance. I also love the claw-foot bathtub planter. Filled with flowers, it’s such a unique, sweet piece! Now I can say I own the claw-foot bathtub I always dreamed of ;) Oh and our beautiful, cozy Pantomine Sectional sofa, which continues to withstand our family of five, is the most comfortable seating in our home! The neutral color is perfect for my ever-changing design plans.
Naturally, American Furniture Warehouse was incredible to work with. I’ve experienced working with their sales associates on the showroom floor, online associates, customer service reps, delivery drivers, warehouse employees and now their corporate team. Regardless of the department, it’s clear that AFW employees are there to make your house a home and your experience seamless. Attentive, classy, kind, AFW went out of their way to ensure I was able to complete my Valentine’s Day look! The showroom is, indeed, quite large, but this always allows for plenty of personal space and undivided time to truly ensure the pieces I’m shopping for are right for my project.
