Natascha Wise
Colorado

I grew up in Colorado. Between trips to the mountains with my father and excursions into fields near the house, most of my childhood was spent outdoors. I always felt a sense of wonder looking off into wild places. There is a deep desire to walk out into those quiet, free lands and lose myself. When I paint, I want to convey the peace and freedom of being away from the daily grind. I want to show the exquisite beauty of nature: the overwhelming sight of all the colors of wildflowers, the feel of the wind, the sounds of leaves and rivers, the smell of the rain, and the taste of clean air. There is something deep inside us that remembers the wild places, and that longs still for those moments where we can simply exist and breathe. This is the feeling I paint. www.wildlandsart.com.
